Dear Colleague:

The Aesthetic Society IS PLEASED to announce the continuation of our International Fellowship Program established through a generous grant from Sientra in 2010. The Program’s endeavor is to enhance the aesthetic education of young plastic surgeons abroad and promote the international exchange of information relating to aesthetic plastic surgery.

The International Fellow will serve as a preceptor in various aesthetic practices and institutions in the United States. Upon completion of the Program in 2012, the Fellow will present their work at the next annual meeting, submit their paper for publication in Aesthetic Society Journal and write an article for “Aesthetic Society News” describing their fellowship experience.

If you are or know of a plastic surgery resident/fellow who is in no later than their third year after training, who may be interested in this opportunity, and from a country other than the USA or Canada, please share this message with your colleague.

Qualified applicants will:

1. Be in no later than their third year after their plastic surgery training.

2. Have an expressed interest in aesthetic plastic surgery.

3. Complete the application found at http://www.surgery.org/professionals by Tuesday, January 4, 2011 to include a photograph, CV in English, and Letter of recommendation from Chief of Plastic Surgical Residency.

4. Be available to attend The Aesthetic Meeting 2011 if selected as a Finalist for the grant (see www.surgery.org/meeting2011) after January 10, 2011. Meeting registration will be waived for all finalists however, the individual will be responsible for all travel expenses associated with attending the meeting.

5. The fellowship provides financial support up to a level of $7500 US. This support is to be given in the form of reimbursement for expenses incurred during the time of study. To receive reimbursement, a chosen Fellow must submit valid receipts for travel, lodging, and other expenses associated directly with the fellowship.

Thank you for your assistance to help solicit applicants who will qualify to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to enhance their aesthetic plastic surgery training.

Warm regards,
